Pinterest

Pinterest is a visual discovery app from the company of the same name, built for collecting ideas rather than chatting with friends. Users browse an endless stream of images, save the ones that spark something, and sort them into themed collections for later.

The description is brief, but it names the core loop clearly. Browsing surfaces everyday inspiration across topics such as fashion, easy recipes, do-it-yourself projects and ways to refresh a room. Anything worth keeping can be saved as a Pin and filed onto a board, so a user might keep one board for dinner ideas and another for a garden project. Collages combine saved images into a single composition. The app also points users toward shopping, letting them find and buy styles they have come across, and toward learning something new through the ideas they collect. In short, it works as a searchable scrapbook for plans and tastes.

The numbers are large: 1,000,000,000+ installs and a 4.3 average from 11,642,588 ratings, with 71% five stars and 11% one star. The app is ad-supported, and in-app purchases run from $5.88 to $329.41 per item. It was updated on 2026-09-21, the Android requirement varies with device and it is rated Teen. We list 4 versions, and the latest build is recorded as varying by device, so no single file size is given.

Anyone planning a wedding, a renovation, a wardrobe or a weekly menu will find it a practical place to gather ideas. People looking for conversation or news will find it too quiet for their needs.
