FaceApp: Perfect Face Editor

One-tap portrait editing is the selling point of FaceApp: Perfect Face Editor, a photography app from FaceApp Technology Ltd. It focuses on changing faces in selfies with results meant to look photographic rather than cartoonish, and the developer says it has been downloaded more than a billion times across platforms.

The editor offers more than 60 filters. Users can polish a selfie, add a beard or moustache, change hair colour and style or add volume, try makeup looks, apply light effects, and clear up acne, blemishes and wrinkles. Facial features can be made larger or smaller, coloured lenses can be tested, and settings such as temperature and saturation can be adjusted by hand. A compare tool shows before and after at every step. For fun there is a gender swap filter, and the app can suggest hairstyles that suit the face in the photo.

FaceApp averages 4.3 from 5,357,317 ratings; 78% are five stars and 13% one star. It has passed 500,000,000+ installs. There are no ads, but in-app purchases run from $4.99 to $99.99 per item. It was updated on 2026-09-12, its Android requirement varies with device, and it is rated Everyone. We list 38 versions; the newest, 12.9.6, is 80.0 MB.

People who want fast, realistic selfie edits without learning a full photo editor will find it convenient. Those unwilling to pay for extras should expect limits on what the free tier allows.
