Lyft

Lyft, from Lyft, Inc., is a ride-hailing app that also folds in bikes, scooters, public transit and rentals. It is designed for everyday trips, from airport runs and nights out to commutes and quick errands.

Booking follows a short routine: type a destination, check the route and the fare shown up front, and confirm. Riders in a hurry can choose Priority Pickup, while Wait & Save trades a longer wait for a lower price. Larger groups can pick Lyft XL, and Lyft Lux offers a more upscale car. The app also shows bikes and scooters for short trips, suggests fast public transit routes, and offers vehicle rentals for longer needs. Not every option is available everywhere, as ride types differ by region, and prices shift with local market conditions. The listing also notes that the app collects the device's language settings once installed.

Reception is outstanding. Lyft averages 4.9 from 662,075 ratings, with 93% five stars and only 2% one star, and it has 50,000,000+ installs. The record marks it as ad-supported, while it has no in-app purchases, since riders pay per trip. It was updated on 2026-09-18, requires Android 9 or newer and is rated Everyone. We list 7 versions, the newest being 2026.35.3.1788938800.

Riders in cities served by Lyft who want price-conscious options and transit suggestions in one place are well covered. People outside those areas, or on phones older than Android 9, will not get much from it. As with any ride app, the real test is how many drivers operate nearby, and that varies by city.
