Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat

Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat, from Grindr LLC, is a location-based social and dating app for gay, bi, trans and queer people, as well as the curious. It shows other users nearby and makes it quick to chat, swap photos and meet up, whether for friendship, dates or something else.

A profile can be as detailed or as brief as the user likes, and tags help share interests and find others with the same ones. The main grid shows people nearby, and filters narrow the search. Chats support private photos, and private albums let users share several photos at once and revoke access later. Favourites can be starred, and others blocked or reported easily. Travellers can use it to meet locals and get tips on bars, restaurants and events. Two paid tiers extend the free app: XTRA removes third-party ads, shows up to 600 profiles at once and adds filters for online status, photos, position and relationship status, while Unlimited adds unlimited profiles, the full Viewed Me list, incognito browsing and the ability to unsend messages and photos.

Grindr has 50,000,000+ installs and a 4.2 average from 1,668,826 ratings, with 66% five stars and 10% one star. The free version shows third-party ads, and in-app purchases range from $0.99 to $769.99 per item. It was updated on 2026-09-19, needs Android 8.0 or newer and is rated Mature 17+. We list 44 versions; the newest, 26.16.1, is 156.7 MB.

Queer adults looking to connect locally or while travelling will find a large, active network. Users unwilling to pay will face ads and a smaller view of nearby profiles.
