Google's own AI assistant arrives on Android as Google Gemini, published by Google LLC. It is a general-purpose chatbot that answers questions, holds voice conversations, generates images and hooks into other Google services, positioned as a helper for work, study and creative projects.

Conversation happens by typing or through Gemini Live, a real-time voice mode where users can also share their screen or camera so the assistant can discuss what it sees. Answers can mix text with images, timelines and interactive visuals. Linking Gmail, Calendar, Google Photos, YouTube and Search lets it draw on personal content, and uploaded documents, spreadsheets, photos or videos can be summarised or questioned. On the creative side, the Nano Banana 2 model edits and generates images, Lyria 3 composes short soundtracks, and video generation is offered to subscribers of paid Google AI plans and Workspace users. Study tools turn class notes into practice quizzes, NotebookLM grounds research in chosen sources, and simple prompts can become working prototypes such as web pages or small games.

The scale is enormous: 1,000,000,000+ installs and a 4.6 average from 46,692,185 ratings, with 82% five stars and 6% one star. The record lists no ads and no in-app purchases in the Play listing, although some features are tied to separate Google subscriptions.
