Messaging, calling and community channels all live under one roof in Rakuten Viber Messenger, the long-running communication app from Viber Media. It covers the usual chat basics and adds group spaces and paid international calling on top.

Conversations can carry text, voice and video notes, photos, videos, stickers, GIFs, contacts and files, and messages can be answered with emoji reactions instead of typing. Calls work between Viber users on phones and desktops, and group video calls hold up to 60 people. Group chats scale to 250 members with polls, quizzes and @mentions, while communities and channels gather people around topics like sports, news or music. On the privacy side, the listing says end-to-end encryption is switched on by default for personal and group chats and calls between Viber users; disappearing messages with a chosen timer, hidden chats and editing or deleting sent messages are also available.
