About this app
Editor Reviews
Hailing a car with nobody behind the wheel is what the Waymo app from Waymo LLC is for. It is the booking front end for the company's autonomous ride service, letting riders in areas where Waymo operates call up a self-driving, all-electric vehicle much as they would a regular ride-hailing car.
The flow is short. You type in a destination and request a ride; the vehicle comes to your current location, you get in and fasten your seatbelt, then begin the trip from a passenger screen inside the car. That in-car screen also shows a view of what the driving system perceives and offers a way to reach Rider Support during the journey. The description mentions options to adjust the cabin temperature and play your own music, so each trip can be tailored a little. The company says its driving technology relies on a combination of cameras, radar and lidar. Keep in mind that the app is only useful inside Waymo's existing service territories.
Few apps are rated this warmly. Waymo scores 4.9 from nearly 57,000 ratings, with 96% of them five stars and only 1% one star. It has passed 1,000,000+ installs. The app itself is free with no ads and no in-app purchases listed; rides are the service it books. It was updated on 2026-09-08, needs Android 8.0 or newer, and is rated Everyone. We list 34 versions, the latest at 35.5 MB.
If you live in or visit a city Waymo serves and are curious about driverless travel, this is the app to have. Everyone else will find it has nothing to do outside those areas.

Frequently asked questions
01 Is Waymo free?
Yes. Waymo is listed as free on Google Play.
02 Which Android version does Waymo need?
The current release requires Android 8.0. If your device is older, one of the 33 earlier versions listed above may still install.
03 How do I install the APK?
Download the file from the version page, open it on your Android device and allow installs from this source when prompted. XAPK bundles need the APKPure app or a split-APK installer (see the install guide in the footer). Always prefer the latest version unless you specifically need an older build.
04 Is the download safe?
Files come from our download library or external sources and are not modified by us. Check the package name (com.waymo.carapp) and developer before installing.
05 How do I get my account back?
Accounts belong to the developer's own service, not to this site. Use the sign-in recovery option inside Waymo, or contact Waymo LLC through the support address listed on Google Play.
06 How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions bought through Google Play are managed in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions; purchases made inside the app follow the developer's own billing.
07 Can I get a refund?
Appmello never charges for downloads, so there is nothing to refund here. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Google Play or by the developer. Never enter payment details on any page claiming to be a download step.
08 How do I use Waymo?
Open the app after installing; it works exactly like the Play Store build. For feature questions see the developer's help pages, as Appmello only distributes the installer.
