Time Warp Scan Cam&Face Filter

HDY Studio's Time Warp Scan Cam&Face Filter recreates the stretchy waterfall effect that spread across social video, without requiring an account on any particular platform. A scanning bar crosses the camera frame and freezes each strip as it goes, so anything that moves gets warped into a funny shape.

It works on photos and videos of people, animals or objects. Before recording, users choose whether the bar sweeps downward from the top or across from the left side, and set a timer of 3, 5 or 10 seconds to control how long the sweep takes. The developer says processing takes about two seconds per result. Everything created is stored inside the app, sorted by creation date, and several photos or videos can be shared at once or deleted in bulk. There is no stated cap on how many creations can be made.

The app averages 4.4 from 20,950 ratings, with 81% five stars and 11% one star, so most users are happy but a meaningful minority are not. It has 10,000,000+ installs. It is free with ads, and in-app purchases are listed at €22.99 - €69.99 if billed through Play, which is high for a single-effect camera app. The last update is from 2026-05-09, it needs Android 10 or newer, and it is rated USK: All ages. We list 26 versions; the latest, 2.1.1, is a compact 13.4 MB.

People who want the time warp look quickly, with direction and timing options and a light download, will find it does the job. Those on older phones below Android 10, or who object to pricey upgrades, should consider alternatives.
