Criminal Case

Murder mysteries meet hidden-object puzzles in Criminal Case, the detective game from Pretty Simple. Players join the police force of Grimsborough, a gloomy and corrupt city, and work case by case to find out who committed each killing, starting with the death of Rosa Wolf.

Each investigation plays out in stages. First comes searching crime scenes for clues, the hidden-object part of the game, where sharp eyes turn up evidence tucked among clutter. Those finds are then examined and samples analysed to narrow the field. Witnesses and suspects are brought in for questioning, and once the evidence adds up, the killer is arrested. Friends can play too, competing to be the best detective. The listing notes that players must be at least 13 under the developer's terms, and it reminds users that in-app purchases can be disabled in device settings for those who prefer not to spend.

The game is a major hit, with 100,000,000+ installs and about 4.3 million ratings averaging 4.6; 82% of those are five stars and just 5% are one star. It is free to play, carries ads, and sells optional items for $0.99 to $99.99 each. The last update was on 2026-08-18. It requires Android 7.0 or newer and is rated Teen, fitting its crime theme. We list 22 versions, the latest being 2.45.1.

Fans of detective stories and hidden-object puzzles will find a long run of cases to solve. Players who dislike scanning busy scenes, or who are put off by ads and paid boosts, may tire of the formula.
