SEGA's blue mascot has been running for decades, and Sonic Dash Run puts that speed into an endless runner format on mobile. Built by SEGA itself, it drops Sonic and his friends onto 3D courses where the aim is to go as far and as fast as possible.
Minute to minute, players swipe to jump, dodge obstacles and spin dash through the Badnik robots in their path, all while collecting rings. The tracks draw on familiar Sonic locations, including Green Hill Zone, Beach Zone and Sky Sanctuary Zone, and boss battles break up the running. Sonic is only the start of the cast: character cards unlock others such as Shadow, Tails, Knuckles and Amy, and each character can be levelled up to improve their abilities on the course. Players can treat it as a relaxed run or push to beat their best score and earn rewards along the way.
The game is enormously popular: 500,000,000+ installs and around 6.5 million ratings with a 4.7 average, of which 81% are five stars and only 2% are one star.
