SAKURA School Simulator

Few simulation games give players as loose a leash as SAKURA School Simulator from GARUSOFT K.K. It drops players into a Japanese school town with no fixed story and no ending, and leaves them to decide what kind of day to have.

The developer describes two broad play styles. One is peaceful: make friends, find a partner and enjoy school life, with conversation choices whose wording varies. The other is chaotic: pick up weapons from a yakuza office and cause trouble around town. Even then, the game avoids blood and death; people who are knocked down are only stunned, wake up the next day and remember who hurt them. Conflicts can be settled with or without weapons, or avoided entirely, since the game treats itself as a sandbox with many possible solutions. Up to four characters can be controlled and swapped in the same stage, although two of them unlock only after watching ads. New content is added over time.

The scale is enormous: 100,000,000+ installs and 3,149,135 ratings averaging 4.4, with 72% five stars and 7% one star. There are no in-app purchases; the game is ad-supported. It was updated on 2026-09-16, needs Android 7.0 or newer, and is Rated 14+. We list 43 versions, the latest 1.048.08 weighing 336.7 MB. The developer itself warns that the game is demanding, recommending over 3GB of RAM and at least a Snapdragon 820, and suggests reducing the number of people in town on weaker phones.

Players who love open-ended sandboxes and making their own stories will find plenty of room here. Owners of older or low-memory phones should heed the hardware warning before committing to a download this size.
