Dress-up, storytelling and a sprinkle of mini-games come together in Gacha Life from Lunime. At its core it is a character creator for anime-style figures, but the real draw for many players is using those characters to act out their own scenes and stories.

Character creation involves mixing and matching hundreds of clothes, hats and weapons, and adjusting hairstyles, eyes, mouths and more, with 20 character slots available. The Studio mode then turns these characters into actors: players pick poses and backgrounds, write custom text, and in the Skit Maker string several scenes into a short sketch. A Life mode lets characters wander areas such as a town and a school, meeting and chatting with non-player characters to learn about them. Eight mini-games, including Duck and Dodge and Phantom's Remix, reward gems that are spent on a gacha for over 100 collectible gifts. The game also works offline.

Its popularity is clear: 100,000,000+ installs and about 3.9 million ratings averaging 4.5, with 75% five stars and 6% one star. It is free with ads, and in-app purchases range from R$7.49 to R$77.99 per item. However, the last update was on 2023-08-15, so it has not been refreshed in a long time. The minimum Android version is 5.0, the rating is All ages, and we list 12 versions; the latest is 1.1.14 at 99.6 MB. The developer notes it may lag on older devices or those with 4K screens.

Young storytellers who enjoy designing characters and building comic-like scenes will find plenty to do. Players wanting fresh content or regular updates should note the long pause.
