Friday Night Funkin'

Rhythm battles against a parade of oddball rivals are the heart of Friday Night Funkin', the mobile edition of the web favourite from The Funkin' Crew Inc. You play Boyfriend, who only wants a quiet evening with Girlfriend, except her furious father and a string of other strange opponents keep challenging him to sing-offs.

Each song is a duel: arrows scroll toward the screen and you press them in time with the beat to keep the performance going. The story mode moves from one opponent to the next, each with its own stage. The soundtrack counts more than 60 original tracks, largely written by KawaiSprite and Saruky, with guest work from composers known for the Persona 3 and Ridge Racer 4 soundtracks. The art is hand drawn in a Newgrounds-style cartoon look by PhantomArcade, and the developers say more levels, cutscenes and playable characters are planned.

Reception is outstanding: a 4.8 average from about 478,000 ratings, with 90% five-star and only 2% one-star. It has passed 10,000,000+ installs. There are no in-app purchases listed, though the game is ad-supported. It was last updated on 2026-09-10, requires Android 9 or later and is rated Teen.
