Matches that finish in under three minutes are the hook of Brawl Stars, Supercell's arena shooter that mixes MOBA-style team fights with battle royale. Players pick a Brawler and jump into short online battles, solo or with friends.

There are several modes to rotate through. Gem Grab is played as 3v3 or 5v5: teams fight to collect and hold ten gems, and losing a life means dropping them. Showdown, playable solo or in pairs, is a survival fight where power-ups strengthen a Brawler and the last one standing wins. Across modes, players unlock and upgrade dozens of Brawlers, each with a super ability, star powers and gadgets, and collect skins to stand out. Battles take place in a variety of arenas within the game's world. Friends can team up, or players can queue alone.

Supercell notes that the game is free to play but that items, including random ones, can be bought with real money, from $0.29 to $239.99, and suggests disabling in-app purchases in settings if that is unwanted.
